Who are we?
Clydeside Orienteers is an orienteering club based in Glasgow, Scotland. Most of our membership is concentrated around the north and west of the city, but we welcome members from anywhere in the Glasgow area or indeed from further afield.
Clyde is one of 5 clubs recently invited to take part in the 2010 British Orienteering Club Talent Squads’ Project. As part of this project the club is launching a programme of regular fitness training sessions suitable for members of all levels of fitness, which will be supplemented by a programme of orienteering skills training beginning in 2011.
Tuesday Club Nights
Fortnightly evening training sessions (hills, intervals etc) suitable for all levels of fitness. (See Summer Tuesday Evening Schedule for details)
Thursday Evening Hill Runs
Meet every Thursday at 7pm to run on the hills north of Glasgow. For directions contact club.
Monthly Saturday Morning Club Sessions
Starting in October the Club has organised a series of monthly training and information sessions. The aim is to provide something for all club members and each session will include some physical activity plus input from visiting coaches / international athletes. Details of the programme will be published shortly.
Clydeside Orienteers is one of the oldest orienteering clubs in Scotland. It was formed in 1975 by the merger of Clyde OC and West of Scotland OC, in order to develop the sport in Glasgow and the West of Scotland.
The club has grown since then and today is the major club in Glasgow and the surrounding area. It has also become firmly established as one of Scotland’s leading clubs.
Because membership of orienteering clubs is not restricted, you will be welcomed into Clyde wherever you live - we even have members south of the border and some overseas. In addition, the club is keen to welcome newcomers of all ages to the sport and to provide the instruction necessary to enable everyone to enjoy the activity of orienteering.
