Bog and Burn Local Hill Race Series
The Bog and Burn Hill Race series is about to kick off.
For anyone interested in trying out some hill running, the Bog and Burn Series is a good place to start.
The six events are as follows:
Kaim 21st April
Whangie 28th April
Dumyat 5th May
Kilpatricks 2 June
Cort-ma-Law 9th June
The Whangie is the most local. I enjoyed it last year: it’s pretty rough underfoot so ideal for orienteers! Dumyat is just behind Stirling University and is one of my favourite hill races from the days when I could run up hills at more than a crawl! The Kilpatricks is local but quite long, the view over the Clyde on the way back down is brilliant. Cort-ma-Law is in the Campsies, is quite long and also has great views. I did it last year and made it to the finish - just! For more information google the Scottish Hill Runners’ website.
