CLYDE Successes in the 2017 Scottish Orienteering League (SOL)
After the Scottish Championships, performing in the year-long Scottish Orienteering League (SOL) series is the most important part of most Scottish orienteers’ year, and so it is great to be able report on considerable CLYDE success in the recently completed 2017 SOL, notably three age class winners, namely Dave Robertson (M50), Ceri Vincent (W35) and Christine Patterson (W55) and two other course winners, namely Ewan McCartney (M12B) and Kirsten Robertson (W14B). Some CLYDE highlights include:
Ewan McCartney WON M12B (with two runs) and was 4th in M12A.
Alastair McCartney was 2nd on M14B (with one run!) and 8th in M14A.
Thomas Wilson (M20) was 2nd on M21E.
Alastair Dunlop was 2nd (by two points!) on M40S.
Dave Robertson WON M50L, with Steve Wilson in 2nd.
Andy Paterson was 3rd on M50S, just ahead of Andrew Macpherson in 4th.
Iain Mennie was 2nd on M55L.
Donald Petrie was 2nd on M60L, with Ian Davidson in 6th.
Mark Elder was 3rd on M60S.
Caitlin Paterson was 4th on W10B.
Kirsten Robertson WON W14B (with three runs) and was 11th on W14A (with two runs).
Alice Wilson was 3rd on W16A.
Emma Wilson was 2nd on W18, with Lindsay Robertson just behind in 3rd.
Ceri Vincent WON W35L.
Sally McCartney was 2nd on W50S.
Christine Patterson WON W55L.
Liz Orr was 3rd (with one run!) on W55S.
Amelia Petrie was 4th on W60L, with Val Belton close behind in 6th.
