UKCC Level 1 courses marked with * are the two-day versions which require you to attend the Coaching Foundation course first.
The Coaching Foundation course gives experienced orienteers the skills and tools to coach beginners and returners of any age.  It would also make a useful update or refresher for anyone whose coaching might be a bit rusty. These courses are part of the planned offerings to help you make the most of the growth in interest that should result from WOC 2015.

Grade B Controllers’ course will be held in Aberdeenshire on Saturday 21st March, 2015.  Exact venue to be confirmed, Banchory is likely.  The course is confirmed but places are still available.  Please e-mail to book your place (if you haven’t already).

New Year Honours
We have the opportunity to make nominations for honours though the Scottish Sports Association.  The honours system aims to recognise and reward individuals who have made an innovative contribution, whose work has made a significant difference to people, to communities or to Scotland.  Honours awards are not bestowed simply for longevity.
If you have any suggestions for nominations, please contact Hilary (who will undoubtedly ask you to provide supporting information).  Nominations for 2016 must be submitted to SSA by 2nd February 2015 so please act now.

Coach CPD
http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/natcen/page/coach-cpd-days-for-2015  gives the schedule of Coach CPD sessions for this year, including an exciting session on “Talent” by Scotland’s expert in the subject.  Places are limited – book by e-mail to Hilary please.

Club membership fees
Please check your club’s details on http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/soa/clubs and tell me any changes required to fees.  Printed membership forms have been drafted for all clubs, have been approved by most and will be supplied in the “potential member” packs which will be ready very soon.
