Funding for UKCC Level 1 coach education
Anyone intending to book on a UKCC Level 1 coach course should allow 6 weeks for the process of applying for funding from sportScotland, as described at http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/natcen/page/funding-for-ukcc-level-1-courses-from-2012/
Regional Coaching Workshops
A series of highly practical coaching workshops will be held throughout 2012, starting on 31st March in Aberdeenshire. Licensed coaches may attend any or all of them; dates and venues are on the general course schedule:

Training for NEW Event Organisers
BOF have introduced an 3-hour interactive workshop for novice event organisers; if you would like it to be run for your club, please contact Hilary.
Club Development Conference
The second SOA Club Development Conference will be held on Saturday 26th May at Fordell Firs, Dunfermline. Each club should aim to send at least one representative.
SOL Trophies
Eleanor Pyrah has kindly offered to co-ordinate SOL Trophies for 2012; adults’ trophies will be presented after the CompassSport event on 19th February.
Techniques Book
The book of “Orienteering Techniques” by Gareth Bryan-Jones has been re-printed (again); a few copies of the old edition remain available at £3 each; the new one will cost £5 for members of SOA clubs (£6 to everyone else). The text has been tidied up rather than significantly re-worked.
