More helpers are still needed – in particular for the results team, minibus drivers, manning timed controls and general marshalling. No TrailO experience necessary; free entry to the public events for helpers. If you can help for all or part of the event, please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) . SOA Clocks (Ted Finch)
The user instructions for the SOA Clocks have been updated and are available at
http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/documents/general/SOA-Clocks-Guide.pdf
The clocks have been upgraded with NiMH batteries and are now much lighter and easier to carry into the forest. For more information or to borrow a clock please email Ted at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
What’s in a name?
The SOA’s planned change to charitable status requires amendment to the legal documents, so if we wanted to change our name, now would be a good time to do it. Should we follow the model of other sports and become “Orienteering Scotland”, just shorten our name to “Scottish Orienteering”, or stick as we are? or indeed is there a fourth option that we haven’t thought of? The Board would like to hear your views. Please see the news item at http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/soa/page/whats-in-a-name and cast your vote before 8th March.
