CLYDE at the Tinto Twin

This weekend saw the 31st, and last, Tinto Twin races. A cold, clear night race followed by a day race (in a blizzard). CLYDE had class winners in Kirsten (W16), Alastair Dunlop (M45) and Dave Robertson (M55). Well done to all who took part, and many thanks to Tinto for running such a magnificent, idiosyncratic, annual series for so many years. Provisional Results and more to follow on the Tinto website.

CLYDE at the British Night Championships 2019

Mild weather and well planned courses which made the most of the technical and physical demands of Mill of Dinnet near Aboyne were key ingredients for a very enjoyable and successful British Night Orienteering Championships last weekend. The outstanding CLYDE result was undoubtedly Dave Robertson’s excellent win in M55, but there were also highly commendable podium places for CLYDE members Thomas Wilson (3rd in M21) and Emma Wilson (3rd in W20), both running for EUOC. Full results can be found here.

Many thanks for Dave and Ann Robertson (assisted by Alastair Dunlop) for organising the CLYDE training session at Gleniffer Braes last Saturday morning. The area has definitely improved in recent years, and the “in and out” exercise provided invaluable practice of entering low-visibility areas.
