Event report
8 people came along for a Pacing Training Evening in Rouken Glen Park.
We started with a 10 minute defrost jog before moving to training.
The exercise was designed around running at normal pace over two measured 500 metres . One was over open parkland, the other on a gently sloping road.
This allowed everyone to calculate how many double paces were needed to cover the distances and reflect on the effect of underfoot conditions, up or down slope and the effect of being forced off line.
This should hopefully reduce the number of times people are saying “I didn’t go far enough” or “I ran past the control”. Time will tell.

Terrain description
A large urban park in the South side of Glasgow. The Auldhouse Burn runs through the centre of the map in a significant gorge with interesting rock and contour features along its length. The parkland to the East of the gorge is well manicured and very fast running with enough detail to confuse the unwary. To the West of the gorge the park is less manicured but still fast and pleasant running. A good area of training events and sprint races.
