White, orange, short green and blue courses will be available - beginners, past members and other clubs all welcome. To reflect the occasion, all courses (apart from white) will include a section from a 40 year-old map as well as a section from the current one, printed back-to-back. Punching starts any time 1.30pm to 2.30pm, start is 600 metres walk from the visitor centre with the finish at the visitor centre. Adults £5, juniors/students £2.50, please enter in advance on O-entries to assist map printing. Entry on the day available subject to map availability (e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to reserve a map).
Car parking on hard standing at the visitor centre, free of charge.
Pre-entries can go straight to the start, route marked from back of the visitor centre. Entry on the day, enquiries and download at the visitor centre (up the ramp on left hand side of entrance, first room on the left).
SI punching used, units mostly hung using cables although a few may be on t-bars.
The white course goes fairly near a shallow pond and a marsh, parents should advise unsupervised children to take care. Note that dog walkers and horse riders may also be present in the area.
White - 1.8k - white maps should be collected from registration before going to the start
Orange - 2.7k
Short Green - 3.1k
Blue - 5.2k
Orange, short green and blue will be double sided maps, white is single sided. Control descriptions printed on the map, no separate control descriptions.
Double sided maps will have control descriptions split to cover the controls on that side of the map, and numbering will restart from number 1 on the second side.
For orange, short green and blue courses, part 1 will use a 40-year-old map and part 2 will use the latest map. Please bear in mind the limitations of the old map!
