Race report
The third in the series of 10 weekly Thursday evening races in the Glasgow area (the series being run jointly by CLYDE and STAG) took place at a new area for orienteering, Whitelee Wind Farm. Participants enjoyed challenging terrain, route choice decisions and variable weather conditions. Thanks to all for your support. Results here
Results
Thursday evening, 2nd May 2013, starts from 7pm to 7.30pm.
Parking and registration at the visitor centre car-park. In the event of adverse weather please bring suitable clothing as the area is open exposed moorland (hopefully it will stay sunny!)
Courses
1. Family/yellow course TD 2 standard 2km
2. Medium course/orange TD 3 standard 3km
3. Long course green/ TD 4/5 standard 5km
Entry fees
Junior (under 21)/student - £2.50
Family (at least one U16) competing as a unit - £2.50
Adult - £3.50
Terrain description
A new orienteering map of Whitelee windfarm, commissioned by East Renfrewshire Council, who hold the copyright. Clydeside Orienteers worked with the Whitelee rangers to produce a series of permanent courses (beginners, intermediate, advanced and 10k challenge). Maps are available at the visitor centre. Open moorland, wind turbines, detailed contour features and amazing views.
