Entries
Competitive teams consist of 4 mixed runners, in the running order Female, Male, Male, Female. As with the recent Perth relays, a Female may be replaced with an M50+. Entries should be submitted online via o-entries (link below) before the closing date of 2nd November although limited entry-on-the-day will be available. There are no road crossings on the courses so under 16’s can run competitively. Other than for the university champs, teams are not restricted to clubs. We will, of course, allow other combinations of teams and will show their full results, but they will not be classed as “competitive”. Team declarations should be handed in by 12:40.
Parking - Map attached below
Parking is available next to the Boyd Orr building, please follow the directions on the map to access. The parking is public access on the weekend so if it fills up please find somewhere on the streets nearby.
Public Transport
The Hillhead Subway station is the closest to the event. Turning left out of the entrance will take you to the junction between Byres Road and University Avenue displayed on the parking map.
Assembly - Map attached below
Please follow the directions on the map from the carpark to the assembly area. Limited space available for club tents in the assembly area. There are also many pubs, cafes, restaurants in the Byres Rd area for post race analysis. Toilets available in the John McIntyre building (see attached map for directions).
Map
The map is brand new survey of the area at a scale of 1:2500 to ensure clarity on some more complex areas. It has 5m contours. The large scale map has allowed individual trees and benches to be mapped in places. Benches in particular have been mapped as small crags (black line) rather than the conventional black X symbol.
Courses
Courses are all 2.5k straight line (50m climb) with gaffling so be careful you visit the correct controls in the correct order! All courses have a run through shortly before the end of the course. SI punching will be used.
Start
Mass start will take place at 13:00. Call up will take place at 12:45 so all first runners need to make sure they are ready in plenty of time.
Terrain
The area covers both the University campus and Kelvingrove Park with including steep slopes. A large portion of the courses are off-road and conditions may be slippy in November so off-road shoes are strongly encouraged. The campus is also host to two graduations and two weddings on the day so people should respect the Out-of-Bounds areas while competing and the area will be busy.
