Organiser’s report
Many thanks to the University of the West of Scotland for access to the Paisley Campus and to the Last Post (Wetherspoons) pub for our event centre. This was the first use of our new map funded via Renfrewshire Council and the SportsScotland Community Sports Hub initiative, mapped by GB orienteer Graham Gristwood. Congratulations to our planner Arnis for setting challenging and varied courses. Access to the university was important for the junior courses and once that was agreed, the event came together in a fairly tight timescale. Particular thanks go to our controlller Ian Pyrah who stepped in at short notice, and Robin and Sheila Strain for their computing and results support. Thanks also to Robert for control hanging & collecting, all Clyde helpers on the day, and STAG for the loan of extra equipment. The several positive comments from those who enjoyed their runs were much appreciated by the team - inevitably with urban, one or two legs created some discussion! Later starters got the benefit of some sunshine and the area was cleared by 3.30pm. Many thanks for your support today.
