CLYDE at Tinto Twin and Scottish Score Championships 2008 http://www.clydesideorienteers.org.uk?mod=news&action=viewNews&id=209 Only a handful of CLYDEsiders made it to the annual Tinto Twin night/day event, the second half of which doubled up as the Scottish Score Championships 2008. Our only overall Tinto Twin winner was Steve Wilson in M40 (a trophy that has been in CLYDE hands for the last 5 years!) and our only Scottish Score Champions were Thomas Wilson (M12) and Emma Wilson (W10), with near-misses for Robert Patterson (2nd by 63 seconds in M14), Steve Wilson (2nd in M40), Donald Petrie (2nd in M50) and Christine Patterson (2nd in W45). Final Overall Results of SOL 2008 http://www.clydesideorienteers.org.uk?mod=news&action=viewNews&id=208 CLYDE had four overall class winners in the premier Scottish Orienteering League (SOL) 2008, Dave Robertson (M40L), Alastair Dunlop (M35S), Steve Wilson (M40S) and Drew Sommerville (M75S), plus several near misses, including Patrick Walder (3rd, M21L), Dave MacRitchie (2nd, M35S), Donald Petrie (3rd, M50L), Pete Halling (3rd, M55L), Emma Wilson (2nd, JW2), Chris Patterson (3rd, W45L) and Liz Orr (W45S). CLYDE at SOL 7 (Crag a Barns, 26th October) http://www.clydesideorienteers.org.uk?mod=news&action=viewNews&id=207 A slightly low-key end to the 2008 SOL series at Craig a Barns saw victories for Thomas Wilson (JM3), Alastair Dunlop (M35S) and Drew Sommerville (M75S), and second places for Dave MacRitchie (M35S), Emma Wilson (JW2), Lisa Petrie (JW5S), Christine Patterson (W45L) and Liz Orr (W45S) in alternating bright sunshine and heavy showers. The event also incorporated the Senior Home Internationals which saw our own Hollie and Jessica Orr play their part in a Scottish victory. CLYDE Finish 6th in Compass Sport Trophy Final http://www.clydesideorienteers.org.uk?mod=news&action=viewNews&id=206 CLYDE finished in a respectable 6th place out of 12 clubs in the final of the Compass Sport Trophy held at Sutton Park near Birmingham yesterday, 147 points behind winners FVO. CLYDE at SOL 6 (Inshriach South, 12th October) http://www.clydesideorienteers.org.uk?mod=news&action=viewNews&id=205 Inshriach South provided its usual technical and (despite several courses being shortened to avoid an aggressive capercaillie) physical challenge. There were top three finishes for Dave McRitchie (2nd, M35S), Alastair Dunlop (3rd, M35S), Steve Wilson (2nd, M40S), Peter Halling (1st, M55L), Emma Wilson (3rd, JW2), Jessica Orr (1st, JW5L), Christine Patterson (3rd, W45L), Amelia Petrie (2nd, W50L) and Andy Paterson (1st, Light Green). Scotland Win Veterans' Home International http://www.clydesideorienteers.org.uk?mod=news&action=viewNews&id=202 The Scottish Veterans' Team have at last beaten the English, Welsh and Irish teams to win this year's Home Internationals. CLYDE's Dave Robertson was in the victorious team.
