University of Glasgow Garscube Campus, West of Scotland Science Park, Maryhill Road, Glasgow G20 0SP. Parking at the Garscube Sports Complex, Google Maps, NS553701.
Map / Terrain
New 1:5,000 map of the Garscube Campus, Dawsholm Park, Kelvindale, and the Wyndford drawn according to ISSprOM 2019-2 standards (however, no multilevel structures) by Klaas Wynne based on Phase 5 LiDAR for Scotland. The Garscube playing fields are out of bounds and will be marked as such on the map using the pink hatching.
Course Information
A Long (4.1 km) option will be available with the start at NS 55324 70174. Control descriptions are printed on the map. Although this is a park environment, studded shoes will offer an advantage and leg cover is recommended but not strictly required. The controls will be marked with orienteering flags.
MapRun 6.5 for smartphones will be the preferred option (although courses can also be run without using this). The course should be downloaded in the MapRun app (use Select Event then go to the folder UK/Scotland/Glasgow/Clydeside Orienteers/Garscube Long. Please enter via this registration form by 11 pm on Tuesday 13th September (use a separate form for each individual entry, please).
