CLYDE at the Veteran Home Internationals
Congratulations to Robin Orr (M60), Donald Petrie (M65) and Amelia Petrie (W65) on their selection for the Scottish Team at the Veteran Home Internationals held in the Forest of Dean on the weekend of 30th September and 1st October. The final result was a comfortable win for England, with Scotland ahead of Wales and Ireland. Full results and comments can be found here.
Balloch Country Park Training, 30th September
Thanks for Rachel and Steve for planning and organising. It was good to see lots of people getting full value from the training courses on a sunny Saturday morning, and great that several people could stay for lunch in Balloch afterwards.
Levengrove Park Training, 21st September
Thanks for Dan and Kirsty for a great training session based in Levengrove Park, Dumbarton. It was a great shame that the issues with the trains prevented several GOATS to making it to the evening.
Wyndford and Kelvindale Training, 31st August
Thanks to Klaas for a great training evening on a new map of an interesting area, expanded on the area previously used for evening training.
CLYDE at the Scottish 6 Days
A large group of CLYDEsiders enjoyed a great week of racing in world-class forests (namely Lossie, Darnaway, Roseisle and Cublin) at the Scottish 6 Days event held between 30th July and 4th August 2023. There were plenty of good results, with overall podium places for Thomas Wilson (an outstanding 3rd place on M21E), Donald Petrie (3rd M65L), and Alistair Dunlop (3rd M50S). In addition, Thomas Wilson (M21E) and Emma Wilson (W21E) were both 4th in the World Ranking Event held on Day 2. The Scottish 6 Days is almost entirely run by volunteers, and "Team CLYDE" did a great job of running the main start on Day 4.
CLYDE at the Scottish Championships 2023
Thanks to all the CLYDEsiders who helped to make this year's Scottish Championships such a success, especially Individual planners Klaas Wynne and Steve Wilson. Top Individual CLYDE results were Dave Robertson's excellent win in M55L and Emma Wilson's strong 3rd place in W21E. In the relays, a team of Emma Wilson, Donald Petrie and Dave Robertson narrowly failed to defend the overall handicap title, but all three of the competitive CLYDE teams made the podium in their handicap classes.
